King Yezdigerd has been expanding the borders of Turan in all directions, subjugating nomadic tribes and small city states and seizing control of the Vilayet Sea from the eastern branch of the Red Brotherhood. In the streets, the common Turanian gives their enthusiastic support, dreaming of the day when Turan will stretch from horizon to horizon.

And yet, trouble stirs in Turan. As wealthy merchants rise to power and conflicting cults vie for Turanian souls, Turan’s neighbors are fighting back. Turanian soldiers are ambushed in the desert, assassins and spies stalk the cities, and the Red Brotherhood seizes isolated ships flying the banners of the Turquoise Peacock Throne.
