The name ‘ORIENT EXPRESS’ has become a byword for luxury in travel, yet before its inception in the late nineteenth century, luxury was not a word that leapt to the tongues of European train travelers. Long journeys or short, passengers endured hard bench seats, often for days at a time... Welcome to the classic Horror on the Orient Express...

A puzzling headline begins a front-page article found in the Times of London. Three men, all identical in identification, were found dead in the same room of the Chelsea Arms Hotel. All were dispatched in a similar manner—stabbed through the heart.

Then the home of a valued friend burns to the ground, severely injuring him in the process. An odd summons, a surreptitious meeting, and a thousand-mile journey begins on the legendary rail service carrying the investigators to Constantinople, the Gateway of the Orient.

Horror On The Orient Express contains a massive and legendary campaign, of up to twenty-one adventures, for the Call of Cthulhu roleplaying game. Beginning in 1920s London, the investigator's journey to Paris and thence to the ancient city of Constantinople. With luck, they also return home.

This first foray into the world of HP Lovecraft's Cthulhu Mythos is going to be a doozy.

In the campaign we will jump around to different times, however, the core of the game will be focused on the year of our Lord 1923, starting January 1st in London England.

We will be using the Call of Cthulhu 7th edition for this particular campaign. And our investigators will be created with a point buy of 460 points. As of yet, I see no reason to alter the character generation rules or restrict character options from either the Keepers guide or the Investigators handbook.

My intention is to have this be a deep Roleplay experience, whose pace will be more akin to the Agatha Christie's story aboard the same vehicle, than to an action-packed romp. The focus and more "strong" characters will be types more prone to study and thought, than to action and physicality. That said, there certainly will be points at which one should be able to defend themselves, and know when aggression will be necessary.

If we are able to complete this massive story arc, I have not only several ideas (both original, and combined) that we can continue with, both during this era of play, but also across several other times. We will see what of this survives the first attempt before we set such lofty goals.

That said, welcome to Horror on the Orient Express!

Please Note: the first game will be a test of the table, pregen characters and a quick scenerio that should last just this game. So just come planning on having fun in the 1920's.
